I grew up in Northern Jutland, Denmark, and I am 37 years old. I am educated as an Occupational Therapist and hold an MBA (Master of Business Administration). Following a traffic accident in 2011 that resulted in a complete spinal cord injury, I have been a wheelchair user myself. This experience has given me unique insight into the importance of accessibility, assistive devices, and rehabilitation – not only in theory, but in practice.
My career began in a private company developing, producing, and selling assistive devices. Over four years, I worked as a healthcare consultant, internal sales representative, team leader, and product manager, collaborating closely with users, therapists, and development teams. This provided me with a strong understanding of how appropriate solutions can create real change in people’s everyday lives.
For the past five years, I have held leadership positions in the public sector, including managing an assistive device depot, three residential facilities for people with intellectual disabilities, and two different municipal authority departments. A common theme throughout my career has been working with people with disabilities and ensuring that through rehabilitation and assistive devices they can live active and meaningful lives with high quality of life.
Over the years, I have also volunteered as a project manager for Save the Children Denmark.
Currently, I serve as a board member and treasurer of Parasport Aalborg, where we work to enable
children and adults with disabilities to participate actively in sports clubs and community
life.
With Enable Children Thailand, I wish to use both my professional background and my personal experience to create better conditions for children with disabilities in Thailand.
The goal is to provide access to assistive devices, support, and developmental opportunities so they can have the same life chances that all children deserve.
